The tornado scene was also complex and costly. Principal photography on 'Gone with the Wind' began January 26, 1939, and ended July 1. Post-production work continued until November. A critical success at the time, it nevertheless took ten years for the film to realize a profit. The budget was US$2. 8 million. Initially making only US$3 million, it only started to make money after a 1949 re-release.

Anyway, the documentary has its moments and is informative; however, I did not get into the talking cows Admirable aims, to be sure, but overall the film is as awkward as a cow on a crutch. The Wanted 18 is gorgeous to look at with high production value placed on actor reenactments, Shomali's humorous stop-motion cow interludes, and the interviews themselves... 's impossible not to recognize the absurdity of life when being told a story from the point of view of a group of talking cows. Taken separately, there is nothing wrong with political documentaries, animation, or talking animals. Put them together, and you have my kryptonite. Once upon a time... absurdist comedy... [of] idealistically impractical... [I]interviews... reenactments, amusing talking animals... [don't] provide nonviolent model. As promising as this sounds, the filmmakers don't probe their subjects enough to get a nuanced perspective of these experiences.
