Those were not actually the full fledged scenes, but glimpses that goes back to like the 70s or something. The idea of those parts were not properly understandable, but I think it is about missing those good times. The lone fighter concept was inspiring. At one point, when everybody around her thought that she's making an unnecessary scene out of it, she was firm on her decision and did what has to be done. This was one of those films I did not like it on the spot. But slowly captivated. Once it's focus was fixed on one particular character, the rest of the tale set forward on what it wanted to tell us. As I understood it, it was not exactly about corruption, except a part of it was. It was the fight for ones right. A fight to save the past. On the other hand, the people from her opposite are ready to take extreme steps to defeat her. That's where it gets into the controversy. The controversy of those stupid tricks used to achieve the goal. This kind of a film coming from Brasil is really wonderful to educate poor knowledge people who easily become victims in a similar fashion.

It's almost the dawning of the Aquarius age at NBC, and you know what that means: We're finally getting a look at the trailer for David Duchovny's new Charles Manson-themed '60s thriller. In the 13-episode series, Duchovny plays a Los Angeles police sergeant with a complicated home life who takes note of small-time criminal Manson when he begins recruiting needy women to what becomes his cult. As history records, these members of Manson's "family" eventually commit various ghastly crimes, including the murders of actress Sharon Tate and supermarket owner Leno LaBianca. The 90-second promo offers plenty of gritty, counterculture fodder — Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" and The Doors' "Love Me Two Times" plays over scenes of Manson bringing a new follower into the flock — plus a peek at how Duchovny's old-school, clean-cut, sometimes shirtless-and-sweaty alter ego gets things done. Aquarius — from Profit brainchild John McNamara — will premiere with a two-hour episode on Thursday, May 28, from 9-11 pm, before settling into its regular 9-10 pm, pre- Hannibal perch the following week.

It missed that opportunity. Otherwise and still a nice drama film to recommend the adults. 7/10

The film premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival to great acclaim. "Aquarius" Netflix " Aquarius " follows the 65-year-old Brazilian widow Clara (Sonia Braga), a former music journalist who's living out her retirement in the apartment complex where she grew up. Clara pledges to stay in the apartment until she dies, but her plans become complicated when young real estate developer Diego (Humberto Carrão) tries to push her out of her home so that he can transform the forties-era building into a luxury condo. Though the other residents have all vacated, Clara refuses to move, and thus begins a war of attrition between herself and her corporate enemies to see who will blink first. A former journalist and critic, Filho eventually transitioned into being a director, experimenting with a host of fiction and documentary styles and creating a series of shorts in the 2000s.

She is the last resident of the Aquarius, an original two-storey building, built in the 1940s, in the upper-class, seaside Boa Viagem Avenue, Recife. All the neighboring apartments have already been acquired by a company which has other plans for that plot. Clara has pledged to only leave her place upon her death, and will engage in a cold war of sorts with the company. This tension both disturbs Clara and gives her that edge on her daily routine. This resulted in an outrage where some resigned from the selection committee and directors withdrew their films from the submission process in protest to local politics interfering with the ability to fairly choose its candidate, such as Gabriel Mascaro ( Neon Bull (2015)), Anna Muylaert ( Don't Call Me Son (2016)) and Aly Muritiba ( To My Beloved (2015)).
